A Perfectly Workable Weight Loss Diet

My physician friend, Dr. Kun Xi Cai, who looks 10 years younger than his contemporaries, once said: "Among all the factors impacting our health, 60% come from ourselves, 15% from genes, 7 % from society, 7% from weather, 3% from environment, and only 8% from physician." His mantra to good health is "Good health starts from self". He routinely gives out speeches on how to maintain good health. The three things he repeated preaching for better health are:

  • Balanced Diet and Suitable Exercises

  • Steady and Routine Life Style - Get up early and go to bed early.

  • Normal and Stable Psyche

  • - Be independent and take good care of yourself and others.

Weight Loss Story

The Chinese school principal Dr. Wang used to weigh 188 pounds at one time. Six months ago when I saw him again, he lost so much I almost did not recognize him. He was thinner at 155 pounds. He told a packed audience how he lost his pounds and what kind of weight loss program he was on.

Dr. Wang shared his figures with us:

Correct Sequence of Eating Procedure

The proper sequence is the key for the success of weight loss.
  • Drink first; then eat. Eat food easy to digest first.
  • Between meals, eat fruits. Timing is 3 hours after meal or 1 hour before meal.
  • Don't mix food and fruits together when consumption. (When you mix them, the enzyme produced via the process is hard to digest and absorb by intestines. If that happens, accumulation of water or fat will occur defeating the purpose of proper eating.
  • Don't mix different kinds of fruits while eating. Eat only one fruit at a time.

Attitude:

A proper attitude is very important. Discipline counts a great deal!

  • Concentrate at eating during meal time.
  • One kind of food in one bite.
  • After meal, stay away from drinking water, soup, or liquid.
  • Eat three quarters full. Please stop well before you feel full or whenever you feel your hunger is gone.
  • Chew slowly. This is very important. At least take 26 chews for one bite. As soon as you start to chew, your stomach starts to work.

It doesn't matter what food do you choose. It matters how you proceed. The procedure and the sequence is important.

Principle of Three Meals

  • Quality of breakfast is important.
  • Quantity of lunch is important.
  • Light quality and light quantity of dinner is important.

Try mentally split the total amount of your meals in one day into 6 portions. Eat 3 portions at breakfast, 2 portions at lunch, and 1 portion at dinner.

Other Questions

  • Wine. Liquor or wine is all right if only it's a small amount.
  • Late Night Snack. Avoid it at all cost. Light and small portion of portrige is allowed.
