Common Foods' Nature in Acidicity and Alkaline
Strong acidic: egg yolk, cheese, white sugar, sweets, persimmins, fish egges
Medium acidic: ham, chicken, fish, pork, beef, bread, wheat, butter, horse meat
Weak acidic: white rice, peanuts, beer, fried tofu, nori, shell fish, octopus
Weak alkaline: red bean, azuki bean, daikon, apple, cabbage, onion, tofu
Medium alkaline: raisins, soy bean, carrot, tomato, banana, orange, melons, strawberry, egg white, dried plum, lemmon, spinach.
Strong alkaline: grape, tea, grape wine, kunbu, natural sea weeds.
Whose Body Easily “Turning Acidic?
- Pulling-All-Nighters -
Staying awake after 1am, body’s metablism transforms to burn heat from endocrine. Bruning heat from endocrine produces toxins in a greater numbers. This makes acidic body faster. Regularly pulling an all-nighters increase chances of chronic diseases in greater numbers than heavily smoking and drinking. Be sure to go to bed before midnight. If you have to, please limit to once a week. While you are doing it, please eat carbohydrates instead of heavier stuff, this way may prevent getting tired the next day and minimize the loss and harm.
- Eating-At-Nighters -
If you eat after 8pm, you are one of them. Eating late makes your next day easily tired; you find yourself difficult to get out of bed, your liver may be injured. When we sleep, all organ functions are deactivated and their capacity to adjust to activities minimized. Food in the intestines turn sour, acidic, and fermented, easily producing toxins, damaging our bodies.
- Breakfast-Skippers -
Breakfast is the most important meal in the daily three meals. A lot of people don’t eat their breakfast. The whole morning with empty stomach generates zero power. Body automatically uses thyroid and parathyroid glands and pituitary glands to get hormones for energy. This makes these glands work extra hard and body acidic. In the long run, it easily turns to chronic conditions.
- Refined-Food-Consumers -
People who sit in the office chairs without proper exercises often fall into this fallacy easily. Because they eat less and be “choosy?in what they eat. They pick refined and delicate foods while avoiding crude and natural foods. Their intestines age much faster. Liver functions worsen quicker. Their bowels may be dark and easily constipated. Refined foods lack fibers to stimulate intestines and make intestines work less effectively and may shrink. When these foods turn toxins, your body turn acidic and chronic conditions set in.

Acidic vs. Alkaline is a very important concept of Chinese diet. We learned from very young that you eat because your body needs to maintain a balance in acids and alkaline. We eat accordingly. This is closely related to Chinese Medicine's relating foods' nature: hot, warm, neutral, cool, and cold. That's another subject in near future.
