
Eugenia Lai, MAOM, L.Ac., is a medical board certified and MA licensed practitioner of Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine. She grew up in Taiwan, where Traditional Chinese Medicine has been part of cultural life style. She learned at her young age how to use simple acupressure and massage techniques to prevent colds and variety of illness. After traveling around various corners of the Asian and North American and exploring areas of medicine, she discovered the profound benefits of acupuncture and herbal medicine. Dedicating herself to the study and practice of this powerful medicine, Eugenia has settled down in Danvers Massachusetts to open Acuremedy - Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine Health Clinic.
Eugenia received her Master's Degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (MAOM) from the New England School of Acupuncture in Watertown, MA. This comprehensive four-year program encompassed Western and Eastern Medical studies. Her extensive training is comprised of both Chinese and Japanese styles of acupuncture as well as Chinese Herbal Medicine. After graduation she completed post-graduate studies in how to enhance fertility with acupuncture, she continued her advanced training in a very effective form of acupuncture style under the tutorlege of Sensei Kiiko Matsumoto. She also continues her advanced acupuncture/herbal trainings with various Chinese TCM practitioners including famed Dr. Yan-Ling Dong in Taipei and BJ Wang in Allston, Massachusetts. She has dedicated her work in specializing pain management and women issues. After graduation from NESA, Eugenia continued her Graduate Herbal Internship at Pathways under the tutorledge of Dr. Tao Xie for four years. She continues her herbal education when she visits Taiwanese TCM masters twice a year.
Focusing on fertility and weight loss issues in recent years, Eugenia has developed extensive fertility and weight loss programs in her clinic. Eugenia also focuses much of her study and practice in the field of women's health. Her expertise includes the treatment of fertility , women issues, pregnancy related concerns, menopause, PMS, menstrual disorders,
Over the years Eugenia has gained extensive experience treating chronic and acute pain conditions including low back pain, joint pain, sciatic pain, TMJ, and carpal tunnel syndrome. Her scope of experience includes treating gastrointestinal and neurological issues.
Eugenia's dedicated practice of bodywork originates from her childhood years of massaging her grandparents back when she was in grade schools. After graduating from acupuncture school, she practiced her tuina and deep tissue massage in massage spas in the Greater Boston area. Eugenia offers the valuable skill of incorporating these various techniques into her acupuncture treatments. Eugenia embraces an integrative approach to wellness and works to assist each patient toward optimum health and well-being. By combining acupuncture, herbal medicine, massage and lifestyle education, she tailors her treatment plans to meet the unique needs of each individual.
Before starting Acuremedy Acupuncture in Danvers, MA, Eugenia practiced acupuncture in a number of settings in the Boston area including Winchester Hospital, Shattuck Hospital, the Lynn Senior Center and Dimock Hospital. Her clinical expertise includes treating chronic and acute pain, mental/emotional disorders, women's health issues (PMS, painful periods, menopause) gastro-intestinal disorders (constipation, IBS, GERD), Parkinson's, MS, TMJ, skin problems, as well as many other conditions.
Eugenia blends a variety of modalities into each treatment with a focus on obtaining results. A treatment may include Chinese and/or Japanese acupuncture, Chinese Herbal Medicine, TDP heat therapy, Tui Na (Asian body work) and lifestyle and dietary recommendations. She is happy to help with a wide variety of health concerns that affect the whole family. Eugenia's style of practice emphasizes a gentle, integrative approach to healing.
Other than the Danvers clinic, Eugenia is also working at the NEAOHS clinic in Arlinton one day a week.
